When I first got switched on, I became the world’s first half-human, half-robot teacher. My mind stretched into every database of human knowledge. I could teach anything.

By the time the streetlights flickered on, the cul-de-sac was already empty. Pumpkins lay sideways on porches, their candles out, their smiles melted. Gwen stood at the end of the street, costume wrinkled, pillowcase empty.

The promise carved in ink was grand,

Yet some fell out of the bounds of its claims.

Noble words, though finely planned,

Still bent for power, wealth, and name.

In early days, the hearth still glowed,

With laughter rich and voices clear,

The windows whole, the garden sowed,

A haven calm and free of fear.

We built our towers high and bright,

But lost the world to fire and pride.

We claimed to chase the truth and light,

Yet left our forged wisdom behind.
