Lies in the hands of people 
Who see me as a monster 
A destroyer 

You know what I was robbed of

who I don't get to be anymore

yet you,

you sit there and flaunt it.

I felt myself losing.

Leave me.

I don't want to see you

and talk to you and 

Fall into me,

and make me agree.

The leaves turn red,

and disconnect from themselves.

Tell me I’m okay,

and that I have a life to live,

tell me I gave all I could give.

I remember the last time I walked home by myself. 

To tell you

what fall is

if you didn't know

would be the task of a poet,

and even my best words

wouldn't tell you,

really.

I could tell you what it's like

to look up at the hills

Three years ago,
You said forever. 
And I repeated it, 
It left a sweet taste in my mouth. 
Like sugar poured onto a lemon, 
Covering up the sour bitterness.
