 As my classmates and I are dismissed from school, I decide to take the long way to my bus stop. For I have quite some thinking to do. I watch the birds fly. The squirrels scrambling for shelter as the howling wind picks up.

A smile that goes miles

That lights up the stage when she performs

For eleven years, I've been a part of the YWP community. I started when I was 11 years old and I went by my old name back then. I used to publish my work here all the time, but much of my publishing has now moved to my university.

His eyes reminded me of the stars, 

so deep I swear I could see his heart. 

He was full of light, 

I was still trying to fight 

the battle going on in my soul.
