My heart out in pennies…

A dime for a dozen, here are my thoughts but you must be ready.

Nickels rest upon my shoulders, piling up, watch

When you are young they assume
you know nothing
you cannot find something that was 
never lost, cannot take back something
that was never yours...

I have learned not to hope, it is a broken empty contraption

We play(ed) pretend, you and I
Tangling our fingers together
and laughing softly
Fairy lights in cardboard boxes, 
blanket fort over our heads

She told us to write about the beach.
7 minutes.
but only if we wanted to.
She said to look at the board and
use the sun glazed sand and water as inspiration.
But only if it inspired us.
I do have a connection to that picture.
