I'm six on the living room floor -
the pink album the pink album I chant -
dad puts the Supremes on the record player, the jacket handed to me -
pink, with three of the most beautiful women I've ever seen -

Kindness, Accidentally
I did not know kindness isn't always loud,
not the grand gestures, not the
throw-the-coat-over-a-puddle,
because sometimes
it is simply someone sitting on the ground -
a mirror to your face, a prickle to your nape
We all hold hands with murderous intent

pen scratches on paper, ten thousand poems

little golden lights, 4 walls
that mirror my soul.

the doors
are left open
for him
to walk through
and brightly lit
with all
he will ever need
when beside him
there is a girl
stumbling through
a dark hall
unable to find her way
