When I was four I wished for five,
When I’d be in Kindergarten
When I was five I wished that preschool would come back again
Again at six I wished to age
At seven I wished the same
And then at eight I wished I was a little kid again
At nine I wanted double digits
10 was the year things fell apart
At 11 I wished for middle school
And 12 I wished to take that back
At 13 I wished for high school to come
Now 14 I wish for all those years
So I could wish for what I had

Most of us are never truly satisfied with where we are in life... though wishing to feel older becomes a little less common! You'll be soon to hit the milestones of youth: Getting your driver's license, R-movies, graduation, your first day of college, your first big party. My advice is to look forward, not back, at all the firsts that are yet to come. Don't dally too long in the memories of the past when you have so much left in front of you!
Yes! I am working on living more in the moment and thinking about my goals, not what I've already accomplished or what I regret. There is no point in wasting time in what you can't change when there is so much to look forward to. Thanks for the advice!
Totally relatable and really well written!
Thank you!
I had to reread that just for the slight chill in my bones at the end! Very well written and terrifyingly relatable.
