I agree about what everyone else says about YWP, but I also agree with OverTheRainbow about trying other places! If your school has a writing club like mine does that is a great place to find contests and in school opportunities. So far the only contest I have done outside of YWP or school is the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. I don't think they really publish your work unless you win at a national level but it's still a great opportunity!
I love this and I absolutely agree. Sometimes I think that being a teen is like life-extract; all the things just taste so much stronger! You capture that really well here.
Wow. This is incredibly relatable for me. I hope you get to enjoy your people for as long as possible. Sometimes, even though I know school is important, I think that our people are the ones who are really going to teach us the life lessons.
This is an incredibly powerful piece. I'm sorry the world and society are such a b*tch. Sometimes I think that lots of people will tell us that we are beautiful in hopes that we will believe it. At the same time society tells us otherwise. I hope not to believe either anymore. To just see my self as the mechanism my body is, a complicated, delicate thing. I wish you all the luck and love in the world.
