Ahh, there is so much sadness in this piece, but a sparkle of happiness too. Sadness for all that's gone away, happiness and appreciation for what once was. It reminds me of that quote about returning to the places you used to love only to notice how you yourself have changed with the landscape (I don't actually remember how it goes or who said it). I found this piece so relatable too -- we all long to return to childhood sometimes; it's a lifelong condition.
Hey! So I came up with this first verse! It took me a while since school started recently so I've been settling in :)
Any tips for the last year of middle school and going through high school?
Anyways, the poem is more about my experience, but feel free to edit or add to it! Maybe to make the poem apply to more people? I'm really looking forward to creating a poem with different writers! I love writing free verse poetry, but I haven't really explored other writing styles so maybe having others add their thoughts, will help expand the poem!
Title:
It's always been hard to know where I fit in.
Some days, I try to socialize more than I do on other days, to make myself seem more approachable and fun.
On other days, I try to use my knowledge to connect with the people who love exploring academics outside of school.
Later, I might play basketball and find myself hanging out with the kids who love sports.
I never really knew where I belonged, but writing has always been a bookshelf of my thoughts and secrets.

Add your ideas, tips, or edits! The poem also needs some title ideas, so feel free to post any ideas for that!
Thank you! It certainly felt like it.
No, I will check it out. Thank you!
This absolutely transports you to another time and place... "Beyond the World" is an apt title.
