This piece left me speechless. The addiction metaphor comes across so powerfully, without feeling overplayed or overdone: It sort of creeps up on you, like the grass on your narrator's leg at first. By the end, you can really see the effects of heroin, feel the complete loss of control and complete loss of sanity, from the point of view of someone struggling (a POV that I think is important).

a little context for me: i'm openly queer and I go to a catholic school (because I got a scholarship haha) and there are multiple "cults" in my school. I'm proud to be part of the theatre cult, but it's very noticeable that there are popular and unpopular cliques. it breaks my heart a little that I cant be considered popular or well-liked if I'm not a perfect fit for the cookie-cutter mold at my school, but I'm happy with the group I'm in and the people I'm surrounded by.
Yes, I feel this for summer during the school year. I think its the release from so many responsibilities, repetition, and stress that makes me miss it. I think I miss who I am during the summer the most.

The barbed wire looks like two hands reaching for each other. So beautiful.
The laugh is ominous...
Wishing you a future as clear and bright as the stars above, hehe.
I love the rhyme scheme in this! Especially in the first stanza!
