If you feel it's right for your story and will add to the suspense, then go ahead. If you feel like it may leave too many plot holes, I'd suggest not to.
Nerves are perfectly normal! One piece of advice is that the friends you make on the first day don't have to be your friends forever. Don't be afraid to talk to different people and float around a little before creating a friend group :)
Also, things really don't have to rhyme. Or, you can make them ryme too. In a flaming lips song, Wayne rhymed "orange" with "store". (HOW). So, just saying, rhymes really don't have to be perfect.
Its totally okay to be nervous! Try to remember that this is a new period of your life and its a time to experiment. its helpful to be authentic and really explore your interests. This will also help you make friends!
Yes I do too! I'll usually have a little brain crisis watching them, because life is so crazy. We're all going to die someday, and I am spending half an hour of this life along with thirty other people on this red double-decker driving through London, and how did we all end up here?
Thank you! I've been really enjoying your poems as well <3

Thank you all so much!

I love this poem, and how you showed the differences between Summer and Spring. And how you personify spring, as if it could break in your hands. :)
That actually sounds quite good. Life is weird, and rambling thoughts are just part of it.
