Exquisite! "I woke up when the lights dimmed for the/ benediction./ our chaplain' s favorite poem was wild geese by mary oliver." so much said and unsaid in these lines!

"Words flowed/ out of my mouth like gasoline at the pump..."  This is brilliant and very relatable! Sometimes when I'm walking down the road I wonder what it would be like to suddenly leap into a neighbors yard --- move through the squares instead of only along the lines.

"Riding horses to race dusk" Love the subtle alliteration "Stone city in heaven" love the juxtaposition! Gorgeous poem packed full of exhilarating imagery!

Love how you throw in that suprising line "brown lip liner." Sounds like a crazy to do list!

Amazing! You've learned the lessons of adolescence much better than I!  Very powerful declaration!

Hi! I'm going into my sophmore year this year, so maybe I can help. One thing I'd say is that your friends from any sort of middle/elementary schooling can still be your friends, but if you want to make a big change in your life, go for it! Hang out with new people, try new things! Remember that everyone is probably just as nervous as you are, and are likely too self-concious to notice that you're nervous.
