turquoise is the silky feeling of warm air.

royal blue is a blustery bay dotted with sailboats.

periwinkle is a salty sea breeze in your face.

icy blue is the veil of frost on the windows in the wintertime.

cobalt is a reckless storm in the Atlantic.

indigo is the splash of a rock skipped across the water.

slate is the beginning of a puddle during a rainfall. 

cerulean is the calm of a summer sky. 

but in a more literal sense, 

blue1 /blōo/ : of a color intermediate between green and violet, as of the sky or sea on a sunny day.
