sprinkle it into a cauldron of sparkling water. 
let it simmer—use your patience!—and once it starts to bubble, 

navy blue is a vast canvas dappled with stars.

turquoise is the silky feeling of warm air.

royal blue is a blustery bay dotted with sailboats.

periwinkle is a salty sea breeze in your face.

Our last presidential election was four years ago. I remember clearly what happened on the morning when the winner was announced. I was 10 years old, but I already knew how much was at stake.
