It was a hot day in the swampy area of the Bayou Nwa in Louisiana.  As usual, the big city of New Poland was booming. Ships filled with cargo were coming and going, all the shops were getting restocked, and lots of people filled the streets.  Most of the people on the streets most likely had advertisements up or some sort of donations for charity set up. If they didn’t then they were probably going to the saloon or buying goods at the store.  One of the ships coming in from Poland was docking and most of the people were confused, because the environment was completely different. The people were not used to the warmth and the swampy areas. On that boat there was a man named Mac.  He had gotten married in Poland, but his wife wanted to move back to the U.S because that’s where she was born. Mac didn’t want to leave, but she convinced him that life would be better in the states. They decided on a place called New Poland because it was supposed to be a good place for new immigrants coming from Poland.  Even though Mac loved all his family and had good thoughts of sneaking back on the boat, he knew that he couldn’t go back. He had his job stripped from him and he was made fun of. Well he decided to stay in Louisiana, but maybe it wasn’t the best decision for him. Everything was going well. He got a new job, had two kids, and they lived in a nice house.  Well one day on his way out of town to go hunting, he was robbed and kidnapped by a group of raiders. These raiders terrorised most of the South. They were brutal and they were known ruthlessly killing and stripping most of their money. After that he was killed and never seen again. The only reason the law found out was because the raiders confessed, but no body was ever found.  Maybe Mac should have gone back to Poland when he had the chance, because in the end it cost him.
