On a rainy day looking out the window, all one can see is rain. The glowing eye of the television entraps us all. Board games are scattered everywhere. People say there's no place like home. Sure, that's true, but you never feel more at home than on a rainy day. I hear a knocking on the door. as I open it, I heard my mother say, “I brought Chinese food,” I'm so relieved to hear those words after a day of bland snacks. As we eat, my mom, my two brothers and I each letting the savory flavors sit in our mouths. We converse about the good, the bad and the strange things that happened on this rainy day. My youngest brother tells stories to my mom about how he played with his new Marvel action figures, whilst my brother and I talk about the monopoly game we played that lasted five hours. My oldest brother dominating my friends and I. He brags about acquiring a new house on every one of his turns leaving my friends and I in the dust. Once I finish my homework for the weekend, I go to bed where I curl up in my warm and toasty ball of covers. Looking back over my day, I think, “There's no place like home.”

Canada
Canada is one of my favorite places to be. Why? Because it’s where I am from. There are not a lot of people in Canada. In fact, there are more people in the state of California than in all of Canada! -
Simmer
Waking up
Panicked
in a rush in the morning
because you slept through your alarm
to realize that you don’t need to leave for school
Jumping into cold
