New York and the 9/11 Memorial

I believe that “All big things come with small beginnings”- Peter senge.

Most people want to travel out of their country and visit exotic places. For me, it’s important to know your country––to know its history by visiting memorials and museums. Before I want to travel the world, I want to get to know my country and where I was born. I would love to visit New York city and the 9/11 Memorial. This tragic event impacted the lives of millions in our country and the fact that I haven’t ever seen it in person, is disappointing. I feel that everyone should be able to honor those who died for us and the innocent people that died that day.

Honoring those who died saving people's lives is a very important topic which leads to where I would love to visit next. The United States Holocost memorial museum in Washington D.C is such a dark place. It brings the horrible and tragic past into the future and shows how people were tortured and brutally murdered. When I was younger, I never really understood the whole Nazi situation, but now that I have been properly educated, I understand it and have been very tempted to go and visit this museum. I feel that this is something everyone should think about before leaving their own country. I get it; I sure want to travel the world and visit new places, but it’s still important to know your country first, then others.
