I thought

I'd be fine on my own this year

After being shown the ropes

But...

I didn't realize how much of a lifeline you were

Until I was stranded

Didn't realize I fell further and further down 

To be praised

To be wanted

To be called talented and know it's true

I am not full of myself

But I am nothing if not confident

Nothing if not sure

Absolutely positive

We sit out on the sand,

The fog covers the sky,

And blankets the world,

Like a shield. 

The waves nip at our feet,

The water's cold

But I'm warm because you hold my hand,

Songs that flutter a relieved life.

Useless to many since of the questions,

And furrowed brows for

Never did they wonder

Till now.

I can say thousands of words, but you don't even hear one...

I can scream at the top of my lungs, but you ignore me...

I could have tears streaming down my face, but its still always about you...

It hurts because...

One night,

Every session,

Of every summer,

We go stargazing.

I look up at the sky and try to see everything,

I try to take in the moment,

It only lasts so long.
