I sit here and stare

Stare at the window's reflection on the floor

The snow drifting down

The grey outside

I notice every little detail

I remember when a phone wasn't important to me

When all I wanted to do was play outside in the grass

Watch as the clouds wisped by in the sky

too fat

too skinny

eating too much

eating too little

not good enough

too self confident

around and around it goes

my mind can't stop 

won't stop

if I tell myself this 

what would there be without a friend

a friend who cares and understands 

you are my light

my path to happiness

your abundance of sunshine fills my heart with words of meaning

space

a gap

an unforgettable pause

time frozen

the loss of contact

you feel nothing but everything all at once

the sensation and longing for your company

two people separated and lost

You once gave to me the poetry of your heart

through bloodshed tears of your wasted time 

I listened so softly

you didn't acknowledge my upbringing, as you lost your way of sight

my hands out empty
