Overwhelmed

by everything unexplainable,

everything that can't be put into words.

There is too much that needs to be let go

so it comes out silently,

but is never fully gone.

He raises his hands,

We begin our dance -

Communicating,

It's like we can talk to each other

He claps his hands twice -

Do you ever grieve something

that isn't even over yet?

It's like you know

that's it's going to be gone anyway,

that you're going to miss it

so much,

Two tributes

each to my past

both to my future.

The first is a remembrance of what still lies in my room

A token of childhood

a pile of anthropomorphic animals in outfits

The rhythm of it all

stops

I hear

I feel

the world differently

it hurts in a way I can't describe

my mind scared of this abnormal occurrence

but happens relatively often.
