I am forever chained to technology.

Everyday I put on technology that will allow me to hear “normally.” 

I will always have to put something in my ear to hear at human standards.

Almost every day I wear a hoodie.

To hide a part of me that I can’t escape.

It shrouds my difference from the world.

So that I can seem normal.

So I can fit in.

So that nobody can pick on me about it.

I hate the fact that so many people make assumptions.

The “fact” that because I have hearing aids means that I am deaf.
