In dirt roads 

the way you bounce in your seat 

and smile at the mud

coated legs 

coated boots 

while everyone complains that it's not 

summer.

wash the cauliflower, when you wash away your sorrow

sprinkle pepper

sprinkle salt 

sprinkle cheese

sprinkle love & home, until it's enough

All my life, people have written me off as

“different”

“possessed” and

“antisocial”

And while yes

I am different

I am not possessed

I am disabled

Pretend I am alright,

act like I’m just fine.

Wonder if you see the battle march

in every step I stride.
