Far from the ground

But farther still from the top

I'm tired but I can't let go

her clothes covered in a thick blanket of snow.

Eight days

I can't do it! she thought miserably, clutching the cold rock on the side of the mountain, her fingers blistered and peeled. "You can!" said a voice. Real or a figure of imagination, she did not know.

Rippling white-capped waves unfold –

Like sea, the sky they brave.

Treacherous white-capped tops –

Like spilled milk under sun spots

There was a fearless girl named Emma who had a passion for mountain climbing. Her next challenge was to conquer the treacherous Mount Everest. However, Emma had a secret, she suffered from claustrophobia, a fear of confined spaces.

Life is a road

According to a lot of people.

But they like to talk about things like

The forks in the road (our decisions)

Or

As the sun sets, and the dusk sinks into the world just like any night, the lonely wanderer treks up his mountain, once again. Nobody knows who he is, or where he came from. He’s essentially a folk tale, a ghost story.

  I just finished my last year in middle school and I was excited for summer break. Everything was going to be perfect.

“AAAAND HE’S OFF! LET'S WISH HIM LUCK EVERYONE!! AFTER ALL, HE IS THE FIRST TEENAGER TO CLIMB THE MOUNT EVEREST!!” The announcer’s voice blasted from the speakers all around the people. 

I’ve been doing this my whole life, but this time it just feels… different. Let’s back up, my name is Karisha Kyles, I am twelve and my life is climbing.
