Tiny Writes
Hi, I'm having awful writers block! I literally went from writing at least one poem a day to being lucky if I write one a week. I've also been interested in writing a novel, but every idea I have falls flat once I start planning. Does anyone else relate to this or have any tips to get back to writing?

When I'm stuck, I try writing something real. Something going on around me, or even just happening in the world. If you're stuck, try writing what you know/feel.
Hi, I've experienced this multiple times before. Here are some suggestions on what to do:
Put all the titles of your works on a wheel of names. Revise and edit whichever one it lands on until it's the best you can make it.
Hopefully this helps :)
I hate the fact that I can relate to this ughhhh
But honestly, writing something that you think is "bad" is often better than not writing at all. Most of the time, others will disagree, and even if you don't love it, it can help to just put words on a page. I feel like a hypocrite for saying not to give up on your stories/story ideas, since I've been so sparse writing my own book, but it's true! And don't be afraid to switch things up if you're not super attached to your novel. Write about things that're important to YOU! It's helped me through my messy plot by having characters that I can relate to and write freely about.
hope my tiny rant helped lol
I hate writers block.
My solution for it is to listen to an audio book that I know really well while I try to write. It's the only way I can get any writing done. This only works for some people, but if you have ADHD or difficulty focusing you should try it.
I'll try this! I am a big multitasker and sometimes I rewatch TV shows, but audio books are a way better idea because they're less distracting! And I definitely know some so well I could describe the entire plot by heart lol
I'm so glad I could help! I listen to the book Mellisa by Alex Gino. What book can you describe by heart?
Probably Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper because I listened to it sooo many times when I was younger. I've also listened to Mellisa and it is a great book!
Hi, I recently discovered some new ideas when struggling with what to write about:
Go onto Merriam-Webster's dictionary website. Click 'word of the day'. Then, use that word as a prompt.
or you could put a bunch of words on a wheel of names and write about whatever it lands on
or if you're reading and you find a word you don't know, look it up and write about it. It'll help you become familiar with that word
(I haven't tested these out yet, so they might not work. I just got a few random spontaneous ideas lol)
UGGH YES i am in the same position right now! writer's block is the worst and it gets us writers so regularly. i listen to music, comb the internet for good prompts (the results aren't great, but Reedsy has some good ones), and try to stop thinking about writing something great, instead focus on developing ideas and stories i already have. hope you get out of the block soon!!
