Caught in a storm

The wind was finally settling

The rain was slowing down

My tears were drying up

What got lost was being found

I let down my guard

Stepped out from the cover

For a moment it was sunny

Until the windows start to shudder

I need to get back under

Escape the raging wind

But for the first time I pause

And really think of the sin

One shattered heart

That's the price of this damage

I can't lose this good thing

But a secret, I could manage

I'll lay down in the puddles

Rest my tired eyes

The rain will feel so nice

I'll hear the sharp snapping of all my ties

She won't know I'm out in the thunder

She won't see the bright flashes of light

I can only hope that she won't find out

Because dancing in the rain is what I'll do tonight

I've recently found myself back in my shell

Pretending to be someone I'm not

And I think I know why.

    I've pulled back from people

Only interacting with animals and strangers online

  • Radio silence

    I'm opening my phone

    To nothing

No messages, no emails, no missed calls,

All I'm getting is radio silence

The sinking feeling in my heart returned

The one where you know something is wrong
