I just finished two books: We Were Liars and Everything, Everything. I have mixed feelings about both of them. What did you think of the ending for those who've read the books?

I haven't read Everything, Everything, but I read We Were Liars and thought the ending was interesting but also had mixed feelings about it too. By the way, there is a prequel to We Were Liars called Family of Liars, and I recommend reading it!
Thank you for the recommendation! I will read it.
I haven’t read We Were Liars, but I have read Everything, Everything. I also have mixed feelings about the ending. I feel like it is a good representation of what untreated mental health disorders can lead to, as well as trauma, but I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in the ending, and the fact that the mom lied to her her whole life.
Yeah, I definitely think it's a good representation of what untreated mental health disorders can lead to, but also the pain of mental health issues is so difficult to write well. I was also disappointed in the ending; it felt like too much of a stretch, and that the author was taking a shortcut. However, I did think it was an interesting genre. Do you have any books that you enjoyed?
If you’re looking for something that portrays mental health disorders and addiction very accurately, then I would recommend Chaos Theory, by Nic Stone. One of the main characters struggles with alcoholism and PTSD, while the other struggles with bipolar disorder, among other things. It’s very well written and the depiction of mental health is very well done. It is pretty emotionally heavy, though, so be careful as you read it.
