Yes, it is both a small step and a tremendous, springing leap! Thank you for shining your positivity on a dire situation, as Pridejaguar13 said. Maybe you could add in a few more background details about the Montana court case in your piece, for readers who don't know anything about it: What specific rights did the young activists claim were being violated with the approval of new fossil fuel projects? How did they ultimately win the case, and has it now set a true precedent? etc.

The shading is impeccable! What materials did you use?

Oh my gosh! This is amazing! I am in love with your artstyle, they way you blend is incredible. I'm a huge space art nerd and I love the whimsy this adds to the galaxy, your artwork appears to be soft and defined all at once.

There's this thing that happens when you grow up, where you can no longer remember how to skip. The last time I went for it, there were maybe <10 seconds of knees thrown up and akimbo as I stomp-stomped my way along before I fully gave up. But this looks like a proper gleeful SKIP through the flowers, and it's making me nostalgic, and makes me want to try again!

Wow... so powerful, thick with emotion. The way I read it, your speaker is looking into a future without her loved ones, and already fearing that she will fail to communicate her love for them before that time comes... only to choose to live in the moment, take in the time she has. A triumph. My mind, too, plays out these scenarios frequently, but I'll admit I don't always reach that last crucial step. I'll try to remember this poem next time.

Ahh mm, I actually find your musings on the passage of Time to be very astute! Many of these thoughts cross many our minds at some point, in some way, and can give us pause. It really is true, the weight we place on birthdays, and our willingness for them to propel us into a newer or more (enter adjective here) version of ourselves more or less overnight. And when we discover that's not the case, it can bring disappointment. That you are already reframing the way you interpret your birthday and interpret your year, and how you hope to go about collecting cherished memories in the future, put a smile on my face. I could learn something from you!

And happy belated birthday, Sayornis!

Ooo that's an interesting discussion to have and a cool quote. Would have to side with you on this but my knowledge of the entire topic is very limited haha

Yes! I'll also picture everything so vividly I'll forget I read something and be like 'I watched that book the other day'
