This is really impactful. I especially love the line "Her name is Hanna and she is the only thing that makes me uncertain of my first two certainties." It forces the reader to go back to the first 2 statements and process what you said, but with a new perspective.
This poem is the very scripture of girlhood. I adore the line, "Piety is folding yourself into the girl you would want to date and the women you would want to marry". This is all so honest and true and so relatable. Wonderful job :)
"Dancing in a Field of Flowers" is this week's featured visual art on vtdigger.org, up now in their Life & Culture section! Check it out, everyone! vtdigger.org/life-culture/
"Good things come to those who wait..." In this case that good thing is a hot apple pie, and you have described so well the tedious peeling process, a true exercise in patience and determination. I could feel it! Interesting descriptions of the minute actions you are taking with your hands, and many beautiful nods to the fall season.
amini, you are good enough! Grades are not everything; they are not what make us who we are. Have you seen Sayornis p.'s "Things to Remember"? I think they might have some words of wisdom for you: youngwritersproject.org/explore/writing/things-remember-pt-1
