The Rebuke of the Chicken

I saw a chicken crossing the street

And said to myself

“That’s rather neat!”

So I asked him, why are you crossing here?

And he glared at me with a stare so real

Then he answered me appearing quite cross.

"I don't ask you why you floss!

I don't ask why you walk up and down, traveling the streets of town

I don't ask what you'll eat today

But if you really must bother and know my way

Here's what I'll do, I'll turn and say

‘I like to take the journey in stride

I just want

To get to the other side.’”

“Haha, pretty crazy getting stuck, huh?”, Ben mentioned, trying to break the awkward ice.

“Yeah, haha.”, remarked Danny, quickly looking away from the uncomfortable outcome.
