There's a moment in my mind

A calm before the storm

The part of the song where we all fly

Before plunging down to darkness.

There's a moment when I can feel my blood

When I go to school on occasion I worry that I will be treated differently because of my hearing.

something completely out of my control.

I fear that a teacher could pick me out of the class because of my differences.

Life is like the marshmallow in the s’more

First you have to take one out of the bag

Then stab it on a stick

If you do it wrong

The marshmallow drops into eager flames

You can start over

I don't know you. 

I knew your laugh and the way your eyes crinkled,

I knew that you loved chocolate and hated shrimp, 

I knew everything about you,

But I don't know you.

Not anymore.
