Iridescence and Glitter
A summer sunset, hands clasped
Slows time, even as the sun rushes below the horizon.
Shoreline iridescent rubies and golds.
Glasses clinking, eyes reflecting- blinking in awe. -
Two Years Ago
I remember
Almost two years ago now
I remember it quite clearly
By the vent where cool air was blowing
Thinking I’ll never see this place again.
I look at the classroom around me.
5th grade.

Fifth grade in my school is when
one of the kindergartners is your
book buddy,
when we read to them every Friday morning,
and when we leave,
it's when we mourn
the loss of our little friend

summer ramblings
the horizon blurs into a mess of golden dots
half-glowing in the early sunset, and
the shoreline into greenish brown, swaying
slightly and I can't tell if it's the long grass in the breeze or the angle I'm at
