I tried to avoid school

but also

tried to get myself ready

for the big class

for the hard homework

the stuff that never ended up

being a problem.

We’d hook pinkies

BFFs forever

Because an extra forever

Never hurts.

With so much joy

And so much laughter

Like we’re little again.

We pile onto the hammock
