You have plastered my eyelids open
Non contact tonometry
Force fed with gavage until I no longer awake
at the smell of burning grease.
Burrowed into retinas like a small flaming needle,
-
Daybreak
I’m afraid of the dark
And the art
I haven’t made
The places not stayed
And the overstayed welcomes I
Know not to inhale the stratosphere keep
Both feet on the ground
And look straight ahead

The sun
you're not
leaving yet. no,
i'll glue your limbs to the pavement,
lower your waving hand,
tell you
something to make your eyes crinkle
again.
again,
again,
again.

twelve months of dreaming
I have this dream
where the sky is dark,
moon illuminating,
faded stars surrounding it,
that I gaze at from
the top of my roof.

Green
When I think of the color green, I think of the trees behind my school. In kindergarten, when kids were cruel and words hurt more than sticks or stones, the trees were there.

The wind blows the grass down
Why can the wind
Be blowing
That piece of grass down
One moment
And not the next?
There’s a scientific answerI bet
And usually that’s what I’m looking for.
But it felt poetic that way, -
Boundless
Today I woke up.
I stretched my arms,
brushed my teeth.
Just as I did every morning.
Except, something was different today.
I opened the foggy window
and took a look outside.
