Different?

Didn’t we fight wars

Didn’t we sign papers,

Promising we were something?

New?

But papers are just ink

And quills

I have always thought about the future a lot

It was always college

And ivy league goals

And 4.0 GPAs

And all night study sessions

Life. So many ways to describe it. Life is messy. Life is complicated. Life can kick you when you’re already down and spit in your face, telling you to stay down, don’t get up, that you’re worthless, pathetic, a disgrace.

I saw a poster on my math teacher's door.

It said, You never know what somebody's going through. A little bit of kindness can brighten up their whole day!
