but,

bursts of REM that gave me the illusive bliss 

of being wherever 

and the closest return  

to the mind of a child 

Tell me we'll be ten forever 

and I'll ride my scooter to your house 

every day, and never learn 

not to trip over the crack on your driveway. 

a small thing

sometimes things

sometimes it’s big

but just a drop of it

can push you forward to do amazing things

We danced, sang, and laughed until we cried

we filled ourselves with happiness until the sadness did subside

At the end we simply said good night not goodbye
