My brain is a jumble of words 

a puzzle of thoughts and feelings that I struggle to put together  

a tangle of ideas that never reach my tongue 

I used to wish for a filing system

I’ve only seen the snow once in my life, when we took a family trip to Lake Tahoe.

She cares

It’s like she felt the pain

In my heart

And understood it

All at once

She listens as

The words fall out of my mouth

Who did it, and why does it always sound like my name?

When I’m with you, my heart is light.

I don’t feel the need to smile, smile, smile, laugh, laugh, laugh.

I can just be me.

The clouds watched the mountains, Strong. Regal.

Infallible.

The clouds longed to join the mountains,

To be together.
