glowing in the always night-

nail polish flakes

acid on the tongue of a

 black bear

or red fox

And now you come home at 12

Smeared mascara 

Red lipstick

Left with a sweet goodbye then 

Came back with sins you knew were sins in this 

You vacuum the carpet in the same direction, 
straight lines like ribs, hoping to be noticed, 
hoping someone sees proof of you, 
the ghost of your hands pressed into the fibers.
