I didn't get one until high school - at this point I'm glad I have it as it definitely makes my life easier, but I wish that I had more self-control lol
I read them in second to third grade and then proceeded to read all of Rick Riordan's other mythology series and was doing pretty well with keeping up until last year when I realized there were like four books I hadn't read 😭
For me it mostly just takes anywhere between 5 minutes and half an hour. Most of the time I just kind of rant in a talk-y way, but if I want the tone to be more poetic I often spend more time on the phrasing. I also go back and edit after I reread it once it's been posted, so it can take awhile but usually it's pretty quick - I just pour out my emotions or how I want to say something. I often think about poems I want to write ahead of time too.
