I can feel the dual tugging emotions in this piece, that wish for independence and to be taken seriously as a young adult, while still missing the carefree days spent as a little kid. And I know, the world can appear to get a little grimmer as we grow up, as the rainbows fade (just as you mention) and some of the realities of life starting crashing in. Hang in there though, the sun will come out for you again!
You wouldn't guess it, but sometimes the most glum days allow for magnificent shots! Were you able to pick the apples where you took this (or were they gone for the season)?
This inspires me to want to keep fighting, too. It's true, we have scaled great heights -- and we will keep climbing, as long as a hill rises above us and begs for our ascension.
Yes! We often forget how it's those small little acts of kindness that knit a community together, and keep the world spinning 'round. Wonderful reminder.

A healthy interest and care in the world around you is something to hold onto. Keep your spirits high; we don't know the outcome yet!
This is really good.
So true and there were some apples but not many left
The fogginess makes for such a great contrast in tone, with the brightness and cheeriness of a rainbow (or bows in this case)!

I'm working on the rest of it right now and plan to publish it tonight. Thank you for the nice compliment!

Thank you so much - that means a lot.
