If you can I would suggest keeping a notebook with you at all times so that if an idea strikes you can write it down and have it for later. Hope this helps:)
hmm well i can't stop time (i wish) but some things that help me are slowing down, taking deep breaths (you can refer online to chi kung breathing techniques which is what i use for karate - they helped me get through my black belt test), and not beating yourself up too much about the little things. also if your teachers are understanding/you're comfy with it, you can explain to them why you're behind. hope that helps!
