This photo shimmers! It's so easy to feel glum in the winter, but looking upon the sun shining in a blue sky and snowfall piled on top of a fir's branches, it's impossible not to see the beauty in the season, too.
Although the parting message of this poem is not one of hope (which I fully understand; it's so difficult to stay optimistic as the climate crisis worsens), you did such an amazing job of describing Mother Nature's great wonders and beauties. She deserves so much respect, and is rarely given it.
You're right, that sounds tough. And undeserved. Friends should be there to build you up, not tear you down -- but I know how hard it is to extricate yourself from relationships you've had for years, fueled in the present day by the fumes of old good memories of old better times. I wish you all the luck in finding your people, ones who care about you and love you for who you are.

Hi! High school has inspired a significant number of my works over the years and can be really fun when it's not like tests and stuff lol. I think the best advice is to find a group of friends with similar interests and beliefs as you, and stick with them because high school is very divisive. And if you don't vibe with some people or you don't vibe with them, that's okay. It happens. Also spend time enjoying yourself as well as staying on top of work. It's really easy to get behind but it's even easier to forget about your hobbies and interests. It's good to make time for things and people you love. As a writer, it's a great time to either join clubs or classes about writing, and also find inspiration in other people because high school is a million more people than middle school and they all are so different. There'll also be more experiences to write about too. It's a change from middle school but you can make really good memories in high school. However, never believe anyone when they say high school years are your best years, there are most likely better ones ahead lol. Sorry this was so long but good luck next year!
Though it's slow at first, the These Violent Delights duology is great. You can read the two books solo, but there is a sequel series as well! I also suggest the House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, they're both really compelling.
This is such a gripping depiction of the slippery slope into addiction and how it always starts with "just one." The reader can really tell how much you, the writer, cares about the subject. Thank you for sharing!
