Flame-Hankering-Weakness

You are my
Flame-hankering-weakness
The second you are born
I will know
In my heart
I will smile
I will hold you
Tight
In my arms
Your first night
You will
Whimper, squeal, whine, and
Wake me up
But I will laugh
And I will
Pat you on the head
And say good-doggo
Take you out of the crate
Against my father's wishes
And tuck you in
My bed
That I will share
with you
In the morning
I will wake up
Very early
To walk with you
I will sit on the floor
To eat my breakfast with you
I will put on my shoes
My new sneakers
And chuckle when I find
You have already frayed the laces
But I give my
don't-you-worry wink
Because I will not tell my mother
And then I will go
To school
And not think about the test coming up
But think of you
I will run home
To see your
Took-you-long-enough face
And I will introduce you to my friends
And they will be jealous
I will think of you long before you are here
And long after you are gone
Because you are my
Affection
devotion
attachment
enchantment
And my
Flame-hankering-weakness
