Just to escape the hassle of home.

Just to avoid the whisper-yelling into phones.

Just to burst free from the stifling bedroom she kept with such love.

She set out.

The sharp ringing

of birds singing 

that settles the fields

on storms bringing

the clouds hover

and the critters take cover

and with silence brings

the smell of spring's

showers

Rippling white-capped waves unfold –

Like sea, the sky they brave.

Treacherous white-capped tops –

Like spilled milk under sun spots

Flow, water, shine,

Words stringing together in a line,

Happy, big, small, above,

Into the amazing language of love,

Poetry, freedom, choice,

The place that gives me the biggest voice,

I love to write,

The mossy grass is

damp after a long pour of rain.

The snow-capped mountains

are colored a powdery white

in the distance.

The sun is setting under the

cool blue waves,

sloshing forward and

Haha, very funny.

I laugh it off

With the people I call my friends.

My face is hot

With embarrassment and frustration.
