let me tell you what i saw today
when i was downtown with 200k others
in the heart of the city of the nation,
a swamp raised to stand above the world. with

Sunny days brought her life.
The flower loved sunny days.

smiled at its rise.
But then the next day,
it rained.

Like a thunderstorm.

lined paper covered in neat cursive
signed by my teachers, women who i remember the names of
and not much else. their voices were warm and the house
