My Mirror
I have a big mirror in my room
It stretches the length of me
Showing everything
Every morning I stand
Right in front of it
I see all my flaws
I see everything
That isn't perfect

My heart
Dear,
My heart
You have marks showing what I've done
You've seen things
No one wants to see
But you keep on beating
You're battered and bruised
You have scars
Caused by pain
By fear

The little girl at midnight
Once upon a time,
There was a little girl
Barely above the age of 7
Forcing her eyes
To stay open
Awaiting the new year
The little girl
Was excited
She believed
Everything would work out

Battle Cries
One girl’s lanky frame against the dark turf field,
lit up by fluorescent lights
She saunters toward the building
holding another girl’s hand

Curved Walls

And everyone in between,
We are supposed to stand
On the same uneven ground,

Spoke Up
I jump in my friend's car.
It's filled basically to the brim.
The area is small and compact.
How did she fit this many people in her tiny car?

I’ll Say It: I Hate Our President
I’ll say it: I hate our president
All my life, people have written me off as
“different”
“possessed” and
“antisocial”
And while yes
I am different
I am not possessed
I am disabled
