Dear YWP, 

The first time I wrote you a letter I was 13. 

The second, 15. 

I'm 18 now; how time flies, my lovely people. 

And this is the last letter. 

The third-grade teacher who was always more than her job description demanded she be. 

She was the one who held you when you'd cry, 

supported you through academic challenges. 

I am a 17-year-old girl who has jumped through several hoops to get to where I am today in life. 

I have spent my teenage years healing the younger me. 

Isn't it funny 

how you can write 

your life's story 

with a realization 

that changed your world 

and have no one 

ever read it?
