I see the text the next morning,

After she has already passed. 

I can't believe it's happened—

Life goes by so fast. 

She didn't mean a lot to me,

A faint fog falls

Over my tired eyes

It's the same that covered them before

Yet still a part of me dies

Our gaze connects,

For only just a moment 

My heart skips a beat

The steep road is near—

A dwelling of hope and fear,

At last, the Light's here. 

They pair us up in groups;

It's funny we're stuck together. 

We'll talk and meet up again,

You'll pretend like we're still forever. 

This project takes a couple weeks;

I catch glimpses of him in mirrors

That strange boy

He's so shy, but he's so loving 

Yet most treat him like a toy

He wanders the empty streets alone

No one can see him

He is there
