you were always a constant to me.

there was a book in the back of our classroom

tucked between crates of other, more important tomes

it had a picture of you on the cover and i read it almost every day

Restrain the roaring voices 

to prevent the foreseeable fights 

filled with rage and hatred 

that could permanently appall 

the people of this world. 

Lips must sculpt more smiles, 

If life is full of the little things

like skating on smooth black ice and laughing with a friend

then I have nothing to look forward to

because there is good in every day.

Walking home after dark or that short top

Are blamed more then the man who didn’t listen to the woman yelling stop

Appalled?

Well at 10 I was catcalled

I’ve been grabbed

We never tattooed ourselves successfully

Because we are pencils tracing our minimal time

Who can only

find a smile through that one

wave of future

in this vast ocean of reality.

I watched a horror movie at a birthday party

a hangout with my girlfriends

I like being scared

We had fun

not thinking about we'd have to

go home
