She Saves Sea Shells
It is afternoon, and she is slick
with sea residue and summer heat,
draped in a sheer pearly sun gown.
Minding the sand upon the shore,
crystal waters bring her a shell, -
To Be Softened (and kissed)
I’ll share a moment with you.
The day is lowering into eve
tucked in by our February smoke
the color of whiskey and gravel,
and the yard is reminiscent

For Mom
I love my mom
Everything I’ve learned in life

She's the woman that has been by my side
since the day I was brought into this world
She's the woman that loved me and cared for me
