I love this story and the seemingly effortless way you build in details to give a full picture of Mr. Red and his neighborhood. I love that the narrator flies in and out of the story on a fast scooter. There are stories within stories here, like this one: "He kisses a framed photo of a young woman he had cut out of the newspaper. He decided long ago that she was his mother." You've created magic!
