Give me a sign.

A sign that everything will be okay.

Give me a sign;

That we’ll be able to work through the pain.

Wars that rage on throughout the world,

Let them not continue.

Let them be ended by the love and kindness of those who speak.

The wind blows cold.

The trees sway in the autumn breeze.

Fall is almost here. 

I can feel it.

Soon, the bears will go into hibernation.

"Happiness is not only a feeling, but a choice."

As the last light fades, so do the birds.

 So do the rays of sunshine.

So does the warmth in the air.

A chill gets carried across the gentle breeze as it ruffles the leaves of the trees and makes them dance.

“Life is beautiful in every way,” I think to myself. 

I sit on a chair in the screened-in porch, alone.

Where only the trees can hear me now.
